Why I am Running for SOS...
I’m running for Secretary of State to restore trust in our elections and make Nevada the best place in America to start and grow a business. While the office has many important responsibilities, my administration will focus on two priorities:
- Election Integrity
- Business & Commercial Registration Reform
About the Office
The Secretary of State of Nevada is a statewide constitutional office serving a four-year term. The office functions as Nevada’s chief clerk and record-keeper under the Nevada Constitution and state law.
Key responsibilities include:
- Administering elections statewide
- Maintaining official state records
- Overseeing business and commercial registrations
- Regulating securities and protecting investors
- Safeguarding the State Seal of Nevada
- Serving on major state boards and commissions
These duties matter — but the most urgent challenges facing Nevada today are election security and economic competitiveness.
Priority #1 — Restoring Election Integrity
Nevadans deserve elections that are secure, transparent, and trusted by everyone — regardless of political party.
As Secretary of State, I will pursue a complete modernization and reform of Nevada’s election system with a focus on integrity, transparency, and public confidence.
My Election Integrity Plan
Secure Voter Identification
- Strong voter ID requirements
- Proof of United States citizenship to register and vote
Paper Ballot Voting
- Eliminate electronic voting machines
- Implement fraud-resistant paper ballots
- Conduct voting at the precinct level
Hand-Counted Ballots
- Ballots counted by hand at the precinct level
- Transparent counting procedures open to observation
Absentee Voting Reform
- End universal mail-in voting
- Absentee ballots allowed only for:
- Military and overseas voters
- Voters traveling during the election
- Elderly or medically unable voters
Clean & Accurate Voter Rolls
- Require all Nevada voters to re-register
- End Nevada’s participation in Electronic Registration Information Center
- Place voter roll maintenance fully under the Secretary of State’s authority
Election Day Reform
- Advocate for single-day voting, following the model supported by Donald Trump
Poll Watcher Transparency
- Enact transparent and unfettered poll-watch reform
- Ensure public oversight at every stage of the process

Priority #2 — Making Nevada a Business Powerhouse Again
For decades, Nevada was one of the most business-friendly states in America. Companies from around the world chose Nevada to incorporate because of:
- Low costs
- Efficient registration
- Predictable regulations
- Business-friendly policies
That changed in 2015.
New laws increased costs and added burdensome requirements, making Nevada less competitive.
My Business Reform Plan

Border Security and Immigration
Jim Marchant is a firm ally of President Trump and will support the full reinstatement—and expansion—of Trump’s border security agenda. That means finishing the wall, deploying more Border Patrol agents, shutting down the border to illegal crossings, and launching mass deportations of those who broke our laws to get here. We don’t need more policies—we need to enforce the laws already on the books and treat our border like the front line of national defense. America must be in control of who enters her land—not the cartels or NGO’s

Economy and Jobs
President Trump has once again shown the world how to supercharge the American economy: lower taxes, fewer regulations, and putting the interests of American workers first. Under Biden, we saw rising inflation, collapsing small businesses, and a shrinking middle class. Now, under the new Trump Administration, the path to prosperity is being rebuilt—but it needs strong allies in Congress to make it permanent. Jim Marchant will fight to make the Trump tax cuts permanent, slash unnecessary regulations, and bring supply chains and manufacturing back home where they belong.
Jim believes in rebuilding the American workforce through opportunity, not government handouts. That starts with encouraging the trades—welding, electrical, construction, and more—as respectable, high-earning careers that are essential to rebuilding this nation. Jim will work to expand vocational training, protect small business owners, and reward companies that bring jobs back to America. With strong, America-first economic policies, Nevada can become a leader in the next great chapter of national growth. Marchant stands with Trump in putting America back to work.

Energy Independence
Just a few years ago, under President Trump, America was energy independent for the first time in over 50 years. Gas was affordable. The Keystone Pipeline was under construction. We were exporting energy instead of begging foreign regimes to turn on the taps. Then Biden came in, bowed to the radical climate lobby, and brought the U.S. economy to its knees. Now, with President Trump back in charge, it’s time to fully reclaim our energy dominance—and Jim Marchant will be on the front lines of that fight.
Jim will push to reopen drilling on federal lands, restore clean coal, explore energy opportunities using advanced walk-away safe nuclear technology and increase natural gas production, and finish the pipelines Biden killed. America should never be dependent on corrupt dictatorships like Venezuela or Saudi Arabia for our energy needs. Jim understands that affordable energy fuels every part of American life—from groceries and manufacturing to heating our homes. He will oppose Green New Deal nonsense that crushes working families, and instead support real energy policies that create jobs, reduce inflation, and secure America’s future. He stands with President Trump in putting American energy first.

Drain The Swamp
Jim Marchant stands shoulder-to-shoulder with President Trump in the renewed mission to Drain the Swamp and dismantle the entrenched bureaucracy that has long stifled American progress. With the reinstatement of Schedule F, President Trump has taken decisive action to reclassify thousands of federal employees, making it easier to remove those who resist the administration’s agenda and ensuring that government officials are accountable to the people. This move aims to eliminate the deep-seated resistance within the federal workforce and restore efficiency and responsiveness in government operations.
Marchant fully supports the establishment of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a bold initiative by the Trump administration to streamline federal agencies and cut unnecessary spending. By reducing the size of the federal government and eliminating wasteful programs, Marchant and President Trump are working to return power to the American people and ensure that government serves the nation’s interests, not its own. This commitment to reform reflects a shared vision of a leaner, more effective government that prioritizes the needs of its citizens over bureaucratic inertia.
